Room Overview

Bed + Bookshelf Models

Chair + Table Models

I've been working on recreating the room I designed earlier in my planning period. I haven't modeled any objects in a minute, so I had to reacquaint myself with the process. In creating the objects, I'm trying to blend extravagance with practicality (seen mostly with the chairs at the moment). I don't know how much I want to experiment with shapes, yet. However, modeling the chairs was fun and refreshing compared to modeling the rather plain bookshelf. Of course, I think the set will come more to life once I texture everything.

Another thing I'm battling with is the size of the room. It's smaller than what would be expected for a royal chamber, but at the same time, it's so sparsely decorated that it looks empty on a larger scale. I'm planning on adding more furniture than I thought of in my floor plan. But for now, I just want to focus on the set pieces that are most important for the story of my character.

Finishing the bed is my next goal. I plan on making a canopy bed! Then the door, picture frame, and balcony. I should also make a hallway so that the cast has somewhere to enter from. I'm not too worried about creating any of the objects/areas that I mentioned. I don't expect it to take up too much time. If it does, I'll finish it up after school. Then, I can get into animating the characters!
