Moving Forward:
I've reached a good point in my project - I'm all done modeling my characters! They are all modeled, rigged, and costumed. When I was creating my king model (aka my base model), I was concerned with how long it was taking me, and was especially worried that I wasn't on the best track to finishing my animation on time. To my surprise, creating the reset of the cast was quite easy. The hardest character to model was the gnome character due to the drastic difference in height and build. Once I completed him, the rest came easy and each one took less and less time to make. I feel a great weight lifted off my shoulders.
Modeling the environment, while not my forte, will go by quick enough as there's nothing really new for me to learn. I'll spend my workdays in school and do some work out of school to get the modeling done with. Afterwards, I want to move on to animating my figures. Doing the texturing doesn't feel essential for me at the moment. I'm more concerned with getting the narrative of the story across, and the aesthetics come second. Of course, it's still something I want to get to, time permitted. At the rate I'm going, I think I'll be able to make it happen.
Between modeling, I want to examine all my models one more time, making
sure that their rigs and clothing are working how I need them to be. I'm getting very excited to wrap this project up. I believe all the planning I did at the early stages of the project has made everything a lot easier on me.
