Figuring Out Clothes:
Initially, when I began creating the clothes for my models, I would build the outfit based off of the base model. For the two models I did that for, the king and gnome models, it came out looking really awkward. The worst was the arms and the backsides. The tutorial I followed to make the bodies structured the elbows and butt in a certain way to aid the movement of the character, but it only made creating the clothes harder. The butt specifically is too high on my models so structuring the fit of the outfits was awkward. Then, the build of the arm made the sleeves of the shirts look awkward. The elbows specifically jutted out which looked really ugly.
I was recommended this video that would make creating clothes easier. While it did work, I didn't want all of my models to have a cloth modifier on them. Instead, I used practices from the video to make clothes my own way.
For my latest peasant model, I began with a tank top shape taken from the original model. Working around the awkwardly shaped booty, I extruded and created the basic shape I wanted my clothes to be in. Then, using the openings of the sleeves, I built my sleeves from that. Using this method, I was able to work and shape the sleeves how I wanted them while still adhering to the general shape of my model. It took me a while, but I figured out the best way for me to create clothes for this specific project.
