End of 2nd Marking Period Reflections

 MP2 Reflections Austin's project really motivated me to work hard and think big. His scenes are extremely well-modeled and textured. He does a great job at creating atmosphere in his work, the effort is apparent. I also think it was a genius idea to use the models of the ghosts as a reference point to understand the scale of the scene and position of the camera. I'll definitely be using that technique when I begin to model my set. In his "Integrating" section, he said he would collect the textures before building the set. I think that's a great idea and something that I will do too, especially because finding textures has always been difficult for me. Winnie's project also really impressed me. I like how she integrated her interest of gaming into her project, speaking as someone who also likes to play video games! You can see a lot of her passion for her other interests through her art. Intention Definition & Exploration of Ideas My concept is Legacy, based on the "Looking Inward: The Human Experience" theme. With the reviews we were doing on artist's styles and the effect and influence they left on the world, I started to think about how I wanted my last project at CV to come out. The fact that it was my last year and I was looking at colleges and trying to put together my portfolio, it all kinda came together into the one question of "What do I want people to know me by?" The film idea really bloomed from that. I took that anxiety I had about my future and my "legacy" and tried to make sense of it through a more fantastical setting. I went with the king idea as soon as I chose my concept. I think legacy and royalty go hand-in-hand and it makes for an interesting setting for an animation.
